National Indigenous Peoples Day

A night of rhythm, roots and recognition.
Celebrate Indigenous culture, music, and tradition on June 21st at Celebration Square, including a host of exciting indigenous voices, and featuring a powerful headline performance by Tanya Tagaq – Polaris Music Prize & JUNO award-winning Inuk throat singer known for her raw, genre-defying sound.
All programming in collaboration with the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.
Some of the most dynamic Indigenous voices in Canada take the saugaLIVE Stage for an evening of powerful music and storytelling. From traditional hand drumming to genre-blending throat singing, this lineup will move you – mind, body and spirit. Returning favourites and new voices come together for a night you won’t want to miss, hosted by Indigenous youth advocate and content creator Kairyn Potts.

- 5:45PM Manitou Mkwa Singers – JUNO- nominated group bringing powerful hand drum and round dance traditions

- 7:15PM Lacey Hill – Soulful voice and magnetic presence from Six Nations of the Grand River
- 8:00PM Tanya Tagaq – Polaris Prize-winning Inuk artist delivering raw, electrifying throat singing like no other
